During the darkest days of the Texas Revolution the Texas Navy was created to support the Republic of Texas efforts to fend off invasion by the Army of Mexico & later to maintain the independence of the Republic of Texas. Once annexed by the United States, the naval assets were transferred to the U.S. Navy. Texas Governor Price Daniel established the next generation Texas Navy in 1958 to preserve the history, boundaries and water resources of the State of Texas. It was formally incorporated as a non-profit on October 10, 1972 and since that time has worked to continue the missions set out by Governor Daniel, and to preserve the historical legacy and heroics of the original Navies of the Republic of Texas.
Please join the Texas Navy Association and Governor Rick Perry as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Texas Navy Association.
