Dear HMC Members:
We are pleased to provide you with the following recap of the 2020-2021 Annual Meeting, as well as additional information for the upcoming HMC Annual Golf Tournament.
Annual Meeting Recap:
The 2020-2021 Annual Meeting was held virtually on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 over the lunch hour. While attendance was expected to be much better, we remain very optimistic about the trajectory of the Club and all of the positive developments in terms of the Officers & Directors, new website, completion of tax filings, upcoming events, and charitable donations.
Charitable donations to the following organizations will be made for the 2020-2021 year:
Houston International Seafarers Center - $1,000
Houston Maritime Education Center & Museum - $1,000
Building Conservation Trust – the Coastal Conservation Association’s national habitat program (Skipper’s Choice) - $1,000
Please note, however, these donations will be postponed until later in the Fall, to ensure the HMC’s finances are not placed under undue stress. Our hope is that additional funds will be forthcoming as the membership pays its dues. As of today, 37 members are in good standing. We need to get that number up – substantially.
